A STRONG START TO 2026: DAYTONA RACE RECAP

Things started off looking strong for the Team TGM lineup at Daytona. The #46 qualified P4, and the #64 rolled off from P33. From the outset, both cars showed they were ready to compete.

THE 46 CAR: SOLID EARLY STINTS, MID-RACE CHALLENGES

Paul Holton opened with a great double stint—holding pace with the front pack and putting the 46 car in consistent contention for a top 3 position. Through pit cycles and position changes, he kept us near the front.

But after Matt Plumb took over, we hit a setback. An issue emerged that affected our downshifting and overall top-end performance. It appeared to be throttle-related, possibly a software glitch that showed up under cornering pressure.

Despite the challenge, the team kept fighting. Matt drove a gritty second half, keeping us in the hunt for a top-10 finish. We ultimately crossed the line P12.

THE 64 CAR: BRONZE WIN AND STRONG EXECUTION

For the 64, things unfolded with equal parts strategy and performance.

I had the opening stint and stayed on the lead lap through a steady first run, handing it over to Kris Wilson at the back of the GS field. He drove a clean double stint, moving us up in both the GS and Bronze categories.

Hugh Plumb closed and closed hard. He put down lap times comparable to the race leaders and kept us in the fight, despite the fact that we had to double-stack for fuel a couple of times (waiting behind the 46 in pit lane). That sent us to the back of the field more than once.

Still, we pulled it off.

The 64 finished P17 overall and P1 in the Bronze class. That win puts us in a strong position as the season begins.

A GOOD WAY TO BEGIN THE YEAR

It wasn’t a perfect weekend.

The 46 had more in it. We just couldn’t unlock it when it counted.

But that’s racing. You take the learnings, hold your head high, and prep for what’s next.

For Team TGM, this was a strong start to 2026. The cars were fast. The crew was sharp. And we’re only getting started.

From the high-stakes world of federal courtrooms to the high-speed turns of race tracks, Ted Giovanis’s books capture a life built on determination, strategic thinking, and results.

In Beyond Fear, Giovanis recounts his extraordinary six-year battle with the U.S. Department, a fight that began with a single email and culminated in one of the largest Medicare court settlements in history. Representing 730 hospitals, he took on the federal government, navigated complex policy battles, and ultimately secured a $3 billion victory. Framed by his humble beginnings and the love and loss of his wife, Jayne, it is a powerful story of persistence, intellect, and the pursuit of justice.

In Focus Forward, the pace shifts from legal strategy to the race track, where Giovanis has spent three decades competing at speeds of 180 miles per hour. Starting his racing career at forty-six, he discovered that the discipline, teamwork, and adaptability needed in motorsport mirror the qualities that lead to success in life and business. He shares lessons learned in the driver’s seat, from preparation and resilience to embracing challenges head-on.

Together, these books offer a rare double perspective: one from the courtroom and one from the cockpit, united by the same driving force to face obstacles with courage, think strategically, and always keep pushing forward.
