In racing, not everything goes according to plan. But what matters is how you respond when it doesn’t.

At Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, things started strong for Team TGM. Both cars were quick in practice. Handling was dialed in. We felt confident going into race day. But just after the fan walk, things took a turn.

THE 64: A FIGHT FROM THE BACK

As the cars rolled through the pit lane, the team spotted an issue: the rear deck on the 64 was unlatched. We made the call to pit after the first parade lap to fix it. That meant the 64 had to start from the pit lane after the entire field went by—a tough break.

Then it got worse. The series handed down a drive-through penalty on top of the pit lane start. That pushed the 64 even further back. Still, we didn’t back off. I drove a clean, focused stint to start chasing the pack. After the driver change, Hugh took over and drove a smart, aggressive run. A late yellow from a four-car crash bunched the field and gave us the window we needed.

The end result? P2 in Bronze. A hard-earned podium after a tough start.

THE 46: SPEED, SETBACK, AND A HARD CHARGE

The 46 car started from P3 on the grid, with Paul putting in a strong first stint that kept us in podium contention. After the driver change, Matt came out running in P3 or P4 and was quickly gaining ground on the front two cars. Then another GS car made contact, spinning him around mid-stint.

It cost us major track position, but Matt didn’t give up. He drove hard through traffic and clawed back as much as he could, ultimately finishing P10.

Not the result we were aiming for, but still some valuable points on the board.

THE CHAMPIONSHIP PICTURE

It wasn’t our best weekend overall. But there was a silver lining: the GS Championship leader also had a rough race, finishing behind the 46. That means we gained a few points back in the standings.

We’ll take it. And now it’s on to the next one.

ON TO ROAD AMERICA

This team doesn’t dwell. We regroup, refocus, and get ready for the next challenge.

Road America is up next, and we’ll be ready to go. The cars are fast, the drivers are locked in, and there’s still a lot of racing left this season!

From the high-stakes world of federal courtrooms to the high-speed turns of race tracks, Ted Giovanis’s books capture a life built on determination, strategic thinking, and results.

In Beyond Fear, Giovanis recounts his extraordinary six-year battle with the U.S. Department, a fight that began with a single email and culminated in one of the largest Medicare court settlements in history. Representing 730 hospitals, he took on the federal government, navigated complex policy battles, and ultimately secured a $3 billion victory. Framed by his humble beginnings and the love and loss of his wife, Jayne, it is a powerful story of persistence, intellect, and the pursuit of justice.

In Focus Forward, the pace shifts from legal strategy to the race track, where Giovanis has spent three decades competing at speeds of 180 miles per hour. Starting his racing career at forty-six, he discovered that the discipline, teamwork, and adaptability needed in motorsport mirror the qualities that lead to success in life and business. He shares lessons learned in the driver’s seat, from preparation and resilience to embracing challenges head-on.

Together, these books offer a rare double perspective: one from the courtroom and one from the cockpit, united by the same driving force to face obstacles with courage, think strategically, and always keep pushing forward.
