In racing, not every weekend brings drama. But sometimes, that’s exactly what you want.
At Virginia International Raceway (VIR), both Team TGM cars showed up ready. No chaos, no carnage; just smart strategy, focused execution, and steady results that paid off in the long game.

QUALIFYING SET THE STAGE
Saturday’s qualifying sessions gave us a clear look at the weekend ahead.
Car 46 put together a strong effort, qualifying P5, but due to a penalty on another car, it started P4 on race day. Car 64 started deeper in the pack, qualifying P24 and rolling off P23 once the grid was reshuffled. The starting positions told us everything: this was going to be a race of patience, pit stops, and timing, not raw pace alone.
EARLY MOMENTS AND TRAFFIC STRATEGY
The opening 20 minutes of the race were calm. Clean laps. No drama.
That changed with the first full-course yellow, which compressed the field and reset the gaps. Car 64, battling through the TCR traffic, temporarily got separated from its main Bronze class competitor. But after a few laps, it clawed its way back into contention; classic focus, classic resilience. Meanwhile, Car 46 held its ground in the top group, biding its time for the first round of pit stops.
PIT STRATEGY AND POSITIONING
The stops were clean. Efficient. Executed exactly how we needed.
46 emerged still inside the top 5. 64 found itself around P15 overall, having already made major gains from its starting position. A second full-course yellow came later in the race and threw another variable into the mix. Teams that were prepared capitalized. Teams that weren’t? They paid the price.
By the final stint, both cars had settled into strong positions. 46 held P6, fighting off pressure but staying composed. 64 not only held P15 overall but pulled away from its closest Bronze rival, securing another class win.
RESULTS THAT MATTER
At the checkered flag, Car 46 finished P6 overall, a solid result that also helped close the gap in the overall championship standings. It now sits at P8, gaining on P7. Car 64 won the Bronze class and finished P15 overall, extending its championship lead in Bronze by 90 points.
That’s racing. Some weekends are fireworks. Others are chess matches. This one was about steady hands and smart calls. No unnecessary risks. No heroics. Just the kind of execution that championships are built on.
WHAT’S NEXT
As we head toward the final stretch of the season, every decision counts. There’s still ground to make up for Car 46, and we’re closing in. Car 64 is focused on locking in the Bronze title and finishing the season strong.
We’re not here for drama. We’re here to drive results.
In two weeks, we head to Indianapolis Motor Speedway. A legendary track. A new challenge. And another opportunity to execute. On to the next one!
